During the part 40 years, scientists from the Institute have made various expeditions to the high mountain areas, Gobi desert, plateaus and glacierized regions of the world. They have made great efforts to explore the secrecy and understand the mechanism and processes in the cold and arid regions. Now, they have accumulated a lot of valuable, first-hand data sets of their research interests.
